School Council
The school has a pupil council. The members are pupils representing each class. The council is supported by a team of staff and meet once a term.
Staff ensure that pupils advocate for those who find communication more difficult. The meeting has an agenda and members have often looked at possible options for improvements to aspects of school. Decisions include making suggestions as to what playground equipment might be purchased to enhance play opportunities. As a result special bikes were purchased for use during breaks for all abilities and ages. A bid to Ntegra for an innovation award was supported by the council and members liked the idea to use green screen technology to support pupils who struggle to perform in The Square, our large performing arts space, by filming in class.
Council members have also met with Ofsted inspectors and other visitors to the school sometimes even showing them round.
