 We are currently recruiting for the following positions:-

DEPUTY HEADTEACHER, QUALITY OF EDUCATION - The purpose of this role is to lead, manage and monitor the whole school curriculum, achievement and quality of teaching to enable all students to enjoy and achieve during their time at the Avenue and to best prepare students for adulthood and life beyond school.    Key operational elements include the formulation of appropriate and flexible timetables, resourcing, pupil groupings and support, recognising that each pupil requires varied learning opportunities.  Please see further details of this role in our Leadership vacancy section. 

ASSISTANT HEADTEACHER, TRAINING, INDUCTION & MENTORING - The purpose of this role is to be responsible for ensuring that all members of staff have a positive and productive working experience.   The successful candidate will take leadership of a programme of progressive induction, high quality and cost effective CPD, staff performance development and mentoring, developing a cohesive staff community. Please see further details of this role in our Leadership vacancy section. 

For both the above roles, we are looking for candidates with proven experience of working within a Leadership team to drive forward the vision and the strategic development of the school.    

SENDCo - The purpose of this role is to have a strategic overview of the School’s SEN Policy and its day to day operational implementation.      The successful candidate will lead on high quality and timely reviews of EHCPs across the school including adulthood plans and transition reviews.     Working alongside internal colleagues and external professionals, the successful candidate will also coordinate and arrange the appropriate provision and additional support for pupils.   Experience of being a SENDCo is essential for this role.    Please see the teaching vacancy section for further information on our SENDCo role.

CLASS TEACHERS -  we are looking for full and part time class teachers as well as a full-time Post 16 Teacher to join our staff from September 2024 and welcome applications from both teachers already within special education as well as mainstream colleagues with a passion for complex SEND. We also invite applications from ECT Teachers who are interested in special education and provide a full programme of training and mentor support as part of our ECT induction.   Further information can be found in the Teacher Vacancies section.
